# Episode-first accounts

Target length: under 1,200 words.

These accounts precede arrows. They use participants' words and source clocks, without higher themes. Exact intervals are differences between gateway item hours multiplied by 60; they date messages, not unseen action or edits.

## Ordinary: `E-02`, rebuilding and narrowing defense

The first visible logo had already been made when the room posted it. Later, zGiQo1R1H70FFQw9eD5FepBd37Q= wrote "It's gone now, alas, or at least partially eaten. I suggest we rebuild it below the Guude and Doc logos. Bigger!" (zGiQo1R1H70FFQw9eD5FepBd37Q=, hour 25.148611111111112, `c0012`, item `dfp4v0y`, thread `62o1bl`, offsets 0:112). hLPwO0zXq7I/qjGSJ8xWAcvnRqM= answered "I have begun! (three diagonal black pixels below Guude logo)" (hLPwO0zXq7I/qjGSJ8xWAcvnRqM=, hour 25.767777777777777, `c0013`, item `dfp6ejt`, thread `62o1bl`, offsets 0:60). The answer names the same position below Guude, so the relationship is carried by words as well as order. The two items are 37.15 minutes apart. This dates the answer, without claiming the pixels were first placed at that instant. It shows one reported start, not an independently verified finished rebuild.

The enlargement discussion opens further work rather than installing a complete plan. A builder specifies a larger design and where its corner begins. Another asks "Mind leaving me one pixel border between us?" (B8nSUnd4avjwgNoL/XV4TF4VFCo=, hour 32.158055555555556, `c0031`, item `dfplomc`, thread `62v848`, offsets 58:102); the answer is "It's a tight squeeze, but sure, there should be room for both of us" (D6v88GyvM4htRl6rbVuIiEFOHew=, hour 32.21388888888889, `c0032`, item `dfpltin`, thread `62v848`, offsets 0:67). These turns establish a requested border and assent. They do not prove every placer saw the request. An edited opening later marks completion and relays the beer-mug artist's request for room, but the opening timestamp cannot date those later edits.

9FaQ1Aaul1/tO6sRUjd8S2OZKjg= reports active attack and solicits Justin's stream. The request seeks help beyond the people currently commenting; the room does not show that stream's decisions or every resulting placement. UxXfCSY3pqwtLE85e6btxoHp8zs= later says "We need to pull back and defend the Guude symbol at least until things cool off some with the dutch." (UxXfCSY3pqwtLE85e6btxoHp8zs=, hour 50.141666666666666, `c0040`, item `dfqhthh`, thread `62v848`, offsets 57:157). Defense can therefore narrow even while the room continues trying to keep recognizable work present.

This episode contains building, a reported start, a border request and a withdrawal proposal. It does not culminate in an established permanent settlement. The later new-plan and backup exchanges keep work visible after these particular instructions. The difference between a post celebrating completion and a comment proposing retreat is a difference between speakers and moments, not evidence that everyone reversed a fixed policy. A model must explain how a site or defended extent could be reconsidered without treating another proposal as proof of its implementation.

## Unpredicted detail: `E-07`, correcting encroachment without complete control

QIwr1FIcNxK0lIUBGz1RFJlEahA= opens `633yh1` by requesting a truce. The coded span is only "I'd like to request a truce on r/place." (QIwr1FIcNxK0lIUBGz1RFJlEahA=, hour 58.278055555555554, `c0098`, item `633yh1`, thread `633yh1`, offsets 47:86). The full opening explains that Mindcrack is expanding into MenOnKazoo's unfinished logo and asks for room. It offers help defending Etho and Guude if the builders move. This is the strongest contrary evidence to an account in which Mindcrack consistently protected smaller projects.

VMUs+9Hw8q+6vvfM7gUPIlp01g8= replies "Sounds reasonable! I'll do my part :)" (VMUs+9Hw8q+6vvfM7gUPIlp01g8=, hour 58.58222222222222, `c0099`, item `dfr5pxo`, thread `633yh1`, offsets 0:37). 7927lbV4MzkMUyOJ9ahvrp/NT3M= later reports "I'm on it. Moving pak 3 pixels right." (7927lbV4MzkMUyOJ9ahvrp/NT3M=, hour 59.06916666666667, `c0100`, item `dfr77ok`, thread `633yh1`, offsets 0:38). The request and move report are 47.46666666666667 minutes apart; assent and move report are 29.21666666666667 minutes apart. The sequence contains an accepted practical correction. The report does not demonstrate the final position independently of the participant.

The full thread adds work that a category called accommodation could not predict. Participants ask whether the move is three pixels, four with a gap, five or six. They locate Pak's builder, consult nearby FTL participants and correct named helpers. UxXfCSY3pqwtLE85e6btxoHp8zs='s `dfr7hoy` says they are moving three pixels, not five. Later `dfra7ye` reports that they went further right anyway and thanks helpers. The distances do not describe one perfectly transmitted plan.

The visitor also recruits contacts and another known creator helps fill the smaller logo. Those messages show that correcting encroachment can include further recruitment and coordination; agreement does not remove the task. Later the void destroys the cluster and the visitor supplies a new location and template. These are uncoded contextual turns and remain so.

The static theme could name border bargaining but could not infer this implementation from membership alone. A model needs to separate promising a move from coordinating it and from independently verifying the result. It must leave room for corrections that settle on a different arrangement, and for subsequent destruction that the earlier bargain cannot prevent. A successful answer can be local and temporary.

## Stopped early in observation: `E-12`, the beef-symbol proposal

At hour 71.45388888888888 the surviving title asks "Maybe we could do the Minecraft beef symbol in r/place if we can find a spot?" ([deleted], hour 71.45388888888888, `c0118`, item `637h4u`, thread `637h4u`, offsets 0:77). A human could read it as a possible next project, contingent on finding a spot. It names an image while leaving the actual site undecided. Under the prior's rule it is a coordinating attempt because it asks about shared work still open at that point.

The full thread contains a deleted body and one automated flair reminder. 8FKYXY2MS7p9ZKInDaFcTDRvOfM= tells the poster how to label the post so readers can find it. That platform prompt does not answer whether anyone wants to build the proposed image. No human response or report of placement is visible in the returned thread.

This is an observed stopping point, not an established failure to organize anywhere. Deleted content may have specified a site; Discord may have carried an answer; people may have acted without posting another reply. None of those possibilities is evidence that they did. Conversely, retaining the title as a proposal does not establish a completed picture or even an accepted task.

The event's fixed closing hour is later than this item. I do not attribute the missing response to approaching closure merely from that order. The record does not say that time ran out for this particular project. Nor does a general explanation of the pixel rule show that someone took it up. The automated reply cannot supply a missing participant commitment.

This case asks a model to distinguish making a new target available from another person finding a contribution and acting on it. A dynamic account that routes every proposal straight to successful work would invent the step the thread does not show. The comparison with the explicitly located rebuild and its reported start tests that temptation. The scope is the surviving thread and coded title; it establishes neither universal nonresponse nor the end of organizing in the room.
