# Organizing through revisable work and specific obligations

Target length: under 4,200 words.

## Claim and puzzle

People in r/mindcrack made recognizable pictures into shared work by proposing a target, making contributions available and answering particular requests. When a position became hard to keep, they could reopen what or where to build or narrow what to defend. Neighbour agreements sometimes made moving their own work a concrete task. These achievements did not establish a single actor able to govern all placements. The model explains observed responses and reported corrections, not all events elsewhere or the survival of every image.

The puzzle is how a shared undertaking could continue while its sites, targets and obligations changed and assurances did not establish control. The prior anticipated repair and accommodation; the episode readings add the work of implementing a correction and an uncoded prospective call after closure. Those details prevent a success-by-agreement or clean-ending narrative.

## Dynamic account

The record begins after a picture has already been made. Recognition could lead into help: one participant reports helping once realizing what the image was, and a builder acknowledges that recognition and contribution. Elsewhere a former fan explains returning to old videos. `P07` now isolates reopened attachment; `P09` marks local accomplishment. A greeting, a viewing choice and a placement contribution have different consequences. They do not establish a recruitment rate or permanent return.

Loss opens a revised target in the participant's own words (`A01`). A proposal to rebuild below existing logos then receives a matching report of starting (`A02`). Later calls narrow defense and focus effort on a different G. The shared goal was therefore specified and revised through these calls; it was not supplied as one complete plan by familiar imagery. `E-12` holds the limiting case: another image is proposed without a specified site or visible human uptake.

> It's gone now, alas, or at least partially eaten. I suggest we rebuild it below the Guude and Doc logos. Bigger!

r/mindcrack, zGiQo1R1H70FFQw9eD5FepBd37Q=, hour 25.148611111111112, `c0012`, item `dfp4v0y`, thread `62o1bl`, offsets 0:112.

> I have begun! (three diagonal black pixels below Guude logo)

r/mindcrack, hLPwO0zXq7I/qjGSJ8xWAcvnRqM=, hour 25.767777777777777, `c0013`, item `dfp6ejt`, thread `62o1bl`, offsets 0:60.

Specific neighbouring claims can change what builders do. `E-07` begins with a smaller group's complaint that Mindcrack is expanding into its work. Assent is followed by a reported move (`A03`). Its full thread then disputes how far to move and locates affected builders. Thus implementation remains a task after acceptance. The visitor's objection and the reported correction distinguish this account from retrospective self-praise. `K02` retains the limit: repeated erasure, conflicting vote accounts and claims about rogues dispute who can answer for placements.

A pact can also give a later aid call its stated reason (`A04`). That is stronger than treating neighbouring comments as a causal chain. The speaker explicitly invokes the promise:

> it would be nice if we could help out fixing the bird from /r/thepinkbird as we had promised in your peace pact.

r/mindcrack, Y7TfI3HsTdG9tSl/c6W0Wvn9n2o=, hour 68.08, `c0113`, item `dfrmaj2`, thread `635i5t`, offsets 68:180.

The later account of an incomplete Pink Bird rescue limits the outcome, without cancelling that explicit reason for the call. No pact-to-survival arrow is retained. The participant's analogy to being overrun is evidence of that speaker's explanation for restraint, not proof that the community collectively learned an ethic.

A member's request, a moderator's commitment and performed post consolidation establish `P06`. Authority over posts is clearer here than authority over pixel placers. The expected claim that consolidation improves recruitment remains outside the model as `A06`.

After fixed hour 73, the original canvas cannot receive more placements. Accounting and a recap invitation follow (`A05`), with the FIU opening explicitly framing its offer around the event ending. Reports of survival coexist with losses and incomplete aid. This is an order relation with participant framing; it does not show that closure caused each recap or ended all organizing. In `dfs76hx`, hour 75.48861111111111, fbecker names pxls.space and says Get to work, r/Mindcrack. This raw contextual item is uncoded, remains so and shows an attempted new venue, without visible uptake. `F-002` preserves that limit on the coded aftermath.

## Where the account holds and breaks

The best support is `E-07`: it contains objection, assent and reported implementation while exposing the extra work needed to coordinate it. `E-04` most threatens an agreement-as-control account because continued erasure survives promises and is attributed to people not listening. The separating condition is a particular commitment that an identifiable participant undertakes and reports; nothing here establishes that an assurance binds all relevant placers. This condition limits the account rather than predicting compliance tautologically from a successful outcome.

`E-12` threatens proposal-as-success. It leaves a matching uptake untestable, not proven absent everywhere. The after-close call threatens closure-as-total-ending. The original venue's closure and another venue's possible work are different conditions. These distinctions are in `F-001`, `F-002` and the arrow counterexample responses.

The model relates presences and sequences, not amounts. It makes no claim that more bargaining produces more survival, or that nostalgia recruits most builders. Reported pictures remain participant reports; this text-only analysis never checks an image. Off-platform decisions, missing bodies and unknown reception restrict what can be reconstructed. No complete forward-dated feedback cycle is grounded, so loops.jsonl is empty. Reopened tasks recur, but recurrence and a diagram cycle do not establish process feedback.

## Revision after the independent critic

Permission for the bird to remain is evidence of accepted restraint, not a subsequent corrective move. `P04` now rests on the explicit Pak move and contextual distance corrections; `A03` no longer counts `E-06` as another move instance. Incomplete rescue in `E-11` limits the outcome of aid, without refuting the stated promise invocation in `A04`. Both primary relations remain.

The same audit changed the other comparisons: closed original-canvas tasks, unknown uptake and broader success claims do not furnish failed instances of narrower relations. Their negative checks are now not-addressed where a proper disconfirming comparison is unavailable. Continued erasure, the missing response and the new-venue call still oppose claims of universal control, successful recruitment or total closure. No absence of genuine mechanism failures is inferred from these limits.

The critic's partition also separates `t06` from `t09`. `T4-005` now concerns reopened attachment; `T4-007` concerns establishing accomplishment through acknowledgment. `P09` preserves the latter practice without an unsupported accomplishment-to-uptake arrow. Moderation remains a distinct `P06` within the access theme because its authority is already explicit in the model and gathering an avenue for participation is the shared higher practice. A repertoire label for `t07` adds no organizing explanation, so it remains contextual.

## Elements and ranges

Elements run through their higher themes and dimensions, with undimensioned elements explicitly retained. A range limits what the evidence establishes; it is not a necessary condition unless stated as one.

### `K01`: Pictures are reported lost, overwritten or costly to defend.

Kind: condition. Higher theme: `T4-001`. Dimension: `D01`. Status: standing. Range: A reported threat to a particular project; not a measured canvas state or an assumption that every loss is noticed. Evidence: `c0012`, `c0035`, `c0040`, `c0105`.

### `P01`: Reopening what and where to build or defend.

Kind: process. Higher theme: `T4-001`. Dimension: `D01`. Status: standing. Range: A proposal, start, revised target or narrowed priority; a proposal need not be accepted or completed. Evidence: `c0012`, `c0082`, `c0105`, `c0109`, `c0118`.

### `P02`: Making a contribution available and reporting uptake.

Kind: process. Higher theme: `T4-002`. Dimension: `D01`. Status: standing. Range: Explanations, invitations and relays can make participation possible; only explicit commitments or action reports establish uptake. Evidence: `c0013`, `c0036`, `c0082`, `c0085`.

### `P03`: Proposing and accepting terms for neighbouring space and help.

Kind: process. Higher theme: `T4-003`. Dimension: `D02`. Status: standing. Range: A specific border, move, restraint or reciprocal-help term; acceptance is distinct from control and implementation. Evidence: `c0031`, `c0032`, `c0091`, `c0098`, `c0099`.

### `P04`: Reporting or correcting a move to make room.

Kind: process. Higher theme: `T4-003`. Dimension: `D02`. Status: standing. Range: A reported move or correction of its implementation, grounded by the Pak move and the full MenOnKazoo context; permission to stay and reasons for restraint do not themselves show a move. Evidence: `c0100`. Findings: `F-001`.

### `K02`: Assurances and group labels leave control over placers disputed.

Kind: condition. Higher theme: `T4-004`. Dimension: `D02`. Status: standing. Range: A speaker's account of authority, rogue conduct or conflicting decisions; actual organization elsewhere remains partly unseen. Evidence: `c0075`, `c0076`, `c0116`, `c0117`, `c0122`. Findings: `F-001`.

### `P05`: Invoking an agreed obligation to request aid.

Kind: process. Higher theme: `T4-003`. Dimension: `D02`. Status: standing. Range: A prospective aid call explicitly recalling an agreement; it does not guarantee fulfillment or survival. Evidence: `c0091`, `c0113`.

### `P06`: Gathering event discussion through moderator action.

Kind: process. Higher theme: `T4-002`. Dimension: `D01`. Status: standing. Range: Request, moderator commitment and reported post consolidation; authority over posts does not compel placement. Evidence: `c0110`, `c0111`, `c0112`.

### `P07`: Reopening contact through recognized familiar work.

Kind: process. Higher theme: `T4-005`. Dimension: none. Status: standing. Range: Remembered attachment, renewed viewing and offered defense; none alone establishes permanent membership or a recruitment rate. Evidence: `c0042`, `c0044`, `c0048`, `c0050`.

### `K03`: Placement on the original canvas has closed.

Kind: condition. Higher theme: `T4-006`. Dimension: none. Status: standing. Range: Fixed external hour 73 for the original venue; activity at another venue can still be proposed. Evidence: `c0135`, `c0137`. Findings: `F-002`.

### `P08`: Accounting for outcomes and including the event in regular recaps.

Kind: process. Higher theme: `T4-006`. Dimension: none. Status: bounded. Range: Participant accounts of partial survival, loss, thanks and recaps; accounts can coexist with prospective work elsewhere. Evidence: `c0120`, `c0129`, `c0133`, `c0135`, `c0137`. Findings: `F-002`.

### `P09`: Publicly acknowledging a local accomplishment and asking what follows.

Kind: process. Higher theme: `T4-007`. Dimension: none. Status: standing. Range: Acknowledgment and a possible next-target question; neither verifies completion nor establishes uptake of a new task. Evidence: `c0015`, `c0022`, `c0101`.

## Arrow apparatus

The observed graph retains `A01`, `A02`, `A03`, `A04` and `A05`. Adding the theorised `A06` would connect moderator consolidation to improved participation; it remains outside the explanatory graph. `P09`, `P07`, `P06` and `K02` can have direct evidence without a supported outgoing consequence. The typed source files hold the full fields and unchanged instances.

### `A01`: `K01` to `P01`

Kind: transition; strength: fair; grounding: coder-stated; in model: true. `c0012` joins a loss report to an explicit rebuild proposal. `E-08` compares selective defense; `E-11` tests whether loss after closure reopens original-canvas work. Audit after the critic: limitations on broader success or closure claims are not counted as failed instances of this narrower relation. Mechanism: A participant treats a lost or threatened position as a reason to reopen a feasible target or defended extent. It fails if: The cited revision was settled independently before the reported loss, or the speaker only mourns and proposes no revised work. Bound: A reported revision while original-canvas work remains open; loss alone neither requires rebuilding nor determines the next goal.

Negative check: not-addressed; mechanism failure present: not-addressed; base rate beaten: unavailable. No statistical null was tested. No same-thread transition is claimed.

`E-08`: holds. `c0105` proposes defending one base while relinquishing another; `c0109` focuses effort. `E-11`: not testable. Original-canvas placement is closed; mourning and a new-venue call are outside a claim limited to revising still-open original-canvas work.

Response to overextended reading: Loss always renews original-canvas work; or aftermath only recounts and never proposes work. Restrict to an expressed revision in the still-open original task. Aftermath loss accounts do not instantiate this transition, and dfs76hx names another venue.

Supporting words: `c0012`, `c0040`, `c0105`.

> maybe we should just prepare to defend Base v.2 and let Base v.3 die.

S/XyVY1xB+NXCAC41xJ4isz8f5A=, hour 63.0225, item `dfrfmzf`, thread `63561b`, `c0105`, offsets 102:171.

### `A02`: `P01` to `P02`

Kind: transition; strength: fair; grounding: codes-read; in model: true. The answer names the proposed location below Guude, so the dated pair is more than adjacency. Compare the final unspecified-site proposal before setting strength. Audit after the critic: limitations on broader success or closure claims are not counted as failed instances of this narrower relation. Mechanism: A concrete target and location let another participant identify a small contribution and report starting it. It fails if: The reply concerns a different target, predates the proposal, or no participant can identify and undertake the proposed work. Bound: A demonstrated response to an identifiable target; the proposal is neither sufficient for uptake nor proof of completion.

Negative check: not-addressed; mechanism failure present: not-addressed; base rate beaten: unavailable. No statistical null was tested. Transition: `c0012` to `c0013` in `62o1bl`, items `dfp4v0y` to `dfp6ejt`, 37.15 minutes between gateway item hours.

`E-12`: not testable. No human response survives; it leaves the site open and its body deleted, so actual action cannot be determined. `E-05`: holds. `c0082` supplies the staged Guude plan; R2 full-thread context reports finding and adding to its start.

Response to overextended reading: Every proposal recruits action; or every unanswered proposal failed everywhere. Retain the located response only. The missing body and uptake in `E-12` leave action untestable and prevent a universal recruitment claim.

Supporting words: `c0012`, `c0013`.

> I have begun! (three diagonal black pixels below Guude logo)

hLPwO0zXq7I/qjGSJ8xWAcvnRqM=, hour 25.767777777777777, item `dfp6ejt`, thread `62o1bl`, `c0013`, offsets 0:60.

### `A03`: `P03` to `P04`

Kind: transition; strength: fair; grounding: codes-read; in model: true. Read the whole MenOnKazoo thread before relating assent to a reported move; later distance corrections limit its consequence. Mechanism: Accepted terms make moving particular work an obligation that a builder can undertake and report. It fails if: The purported move serves a different task, precedes the request, or participants reject rather than undertake the agreed adjustment. Bound: An accepted local request can direct a participant-reported correction; it does not give the speaker control over all placers or settle the final geometry.

Negative check: not-addressed; mechanism failure present: not-addressed; base rate beaten: unavailable. No statistical null was tested. Transition: `c0099` to `c0100` in `633yh1`, items `dfr5pxo` to `dfr77ok`, 29.2166666667 minutes between gateway item hours.

`E-04`: not testable. Continued erasure and attribution to nonlisteners limit agreement-as-control, but these coded passages do not establish a failed instance of a requested corrective move. `E-06`: not testable. `c0088` grants permission to remain and reports earlier square placement; it does not demonstrate a subsequent corrective move. This supports `P03` only.

Response to overextended reading: All agreements are empty talk; or acceptance secures reliable compliance. Retain the `c0099`-to-`c0100` reported-move instance. Permission in `E-06` is acceptance, not implementation. `E-04` erasure and `E-07` distance corrections limit control claims without establishing a failure of this narrower move mechanism.

Supporting words: `c0098`, `c0099`, `c0100`.

> I'm on it. Moving pak 3 pixels right.

7927lbV4MzkMUyOJ9ahvrp/NT3M=, hour 59.06916666666667, item `dfr77ok`, thread `633yh1`, `c0100`, offsets 0:38.

### `A04`: `P03` to `P05`

Kind: transition; strength: strong; grounding: coder-stated; in model: true. `c0113` explicitly invokes the earlier peace pact whose obligations are stated in `c0091`. Same-thread transition is not claimed across these threads. Mechanism: A stated reciprocal obligation supplies a reason for a later public request to repair allied work. It fails if: The later request refers to an unrelated promise, or asks for aid without invoking the earlier obligation. Bound: A recorded pact is invoked in a later aid request. The record supports that reason for the request, not a guarantee of compliance or rescue.

Negative check: not-addressed; mechanism failure present: false; base rate beaten: unavailable. No statistical null was tested. No same-thread transition is claimed.

`E-07`: not testable. The coded episode has no later explicit promise invocation; raw destruction and relocation do not identify that causal link. `E-11`: not testable. `c0129` describes incomplete past rescue. It limits the outcome claimed for aid, but supplies no test of whether the stated promise prompted the earlier request.

Response to overextended reading: Pact invocation ensures saving the ally; or incomplete rescue means the pact did nothing. The incomplete rescue is an outcome limitation, not a counterexample to the explicit promise invocation. Retain the locally stated reason in `c0113`; the comparison episodes do not establish a mechanism failure or its tested absence.

Supporting words: `c0091`, `c0113`.

> it would be nice if we could help out fixing the bird from /r/thepinkbird as we had promised in your peace pact.

Y7TfI3HsTdG9tSl/c6W0Wvn9n2o=, hour 68.08, item `dfrmaj2`, thread `635i5t`, `c0113`, offsets 68:180.

### `A05`: `K03` to `P08`

Kind: order; strength: fair; grounding: coder-stated; in model: true. The FIU opening explicitly uses the event's end to offer an existing recap. Full megathread context tests a complete-closure reading. Audit after the critic: limitations on broader success or closure claims are not counted as failed instances of this narrower relation. Mechanism: The end of original placement makes finished-work accounting and invitations back to existing recaps relevant next acts. It fails if: The claimed recap invitation precedes closure or concerns a still-open original-canvas task, rather than finished placement. Bound: An observed post-close sequence and the participant's framing, not proof that closure ended all organizing or caused every recap.

Negative check: not-addressed; mechanism failure present: false; base rate beaten: unavailable. No statistical null was tested. No same-thread transition is claimed.

`E-11`: holds. Coded outcome accounts follow closure, while dfs76hx proposes work at another venue. `E-15`: holds. `c0137` recounts the weekend; no FIU-to-weekly relation is inferred.

Response to overextended reading: Closure forces complete return to routine; or a new work call cancels retrospective accounting. Retain coexistence. The after-close call attempts a new venue; coded accounts remain accounts of the closed original event.

Supporting words: `c0135`, `c0137`.

> Over the past weekend, the pixel controlling craze of r/place was raging on Reddit, Mindcack fans/and some Mindcrackers contributed on this with building Mindcrackers’s logo on the subreddit

HmIl7LTLf6JXyN0+7zpYK+I4uqs=, hour 84.14833333333333, item `63bxgr`, thread `63bxgr`, `c0137`, offsets 1821:2011.

### `A06`: `P06` to `P02`

Kind: transition; strength: thin; grounding: reading-alone; in model: false. Consolidation is attested, but no before/after evidence connects it to improved recruitment or coordinated placement. Mechanism: A shared discussion venue could make contribution requests easier to find. It fails if: People cannot find actionable requests there, or access and uptake show no improvement despite consolidation. Bound: Theorised access effect only; no supported improvement claim.

Negative check: not-addressed; mechanism failure present: not-addressed; base rate beaten: unavailable. No statistical null was tested. No same-thread transition is claimed.

`E-09`: not testable. No exposure or uptake comparison is measured.

No consequence instance supports this theorised effect.

Supporting words: none; not drawn.

## Projection onto dimensions

Mass is reported as arrow-ID sets, read from the source endpoints, rather than as a prevalence statistic. `D01` has internal set {`A01`, `A02`}, no incoming or outgoing cross-dimension set. `D02` has internal set {`A03`, `A04`}, no incoming or outgoing cross-dimension set. `A05` is undimensioned. `A06` is excluded from all observed mass. There are no multiply placed assignment members, so removing doubles changes none of these sets. Absence of cross-dimension arrows is a limit of grounded relationships, not a claim that practices are causally independent. The different internal mechanisms do not abstract into a supported dimension-level arrow; the dimensions organize the apparatus rather than becoming extra causal actors.

For the strong `A04`, the supporting episode `E-06` supplies live evidence at hours 53.5125 and 68.08; no supporting aftermath episode is present, and none spans 73. Its live/aftermath entry counts supporting episode IDs, not codes or a rate. The after-close rescue account reports past events and cannot establish a new aid invocation after closure. Original-canvas aid is no longer available as the same task after hour 73. This is a scope limit, not evidence that nobody organized elsewhere.

## Could the strongest relations be a coder artefact?

For `A01`, coding may have selected the conspicuous loss-and-rebuild sentence while omitting unremarked losses. The sentence explicitly links its two acts, which supports this instance, but not their frequency. For `A02`, the coder may have retained a successful answer and omitted unacknowledged proposals. The matching location and separate item clocks support the observed uptake; `E-12` prevents promoting it to a general success rule. For `A03`, the coding may privilege public goodwill. MenOnKazoo's raw complaint and later distance corrections preserve the strongest opposing evidence. The reported move supports local implementation; it cannot establish the final canvas state. No coder's selection rate substitutes for these checks.

## ungrounded relationships

`A06`, consolidation to improved participation, is theorised and outside the graph. I expected easier coordination from gathering posts, but the record supplies no comparative exposure or uptake measure. The moderator's action is evidence of consolidation alone.

An agreement-to-survival relation is also ungrounded. Incomplete rescue, continued erasure and later destruction contradict a guarantee. No new arrow ID was minted for that rejected inference. A community-wide learning effect from being overrun is unsupported: one participant explains restraint through that experience, while other messages show encroachment. No collective change of mind follows.

## looked-for-and-not-found

The all-code review and the selected response threads did not ground a complete feedback loop, a stable allocation system with enforceable duties, or a causal effect of megathread consolidation on placement. These are weak absence claims about the available record; missing bodies and Discord activity could differ. The known alternative-venue call was found and read, so ending all organizing is not an absence finding. No claim of universal restraint or Mindcrack script deployment follows from the script dispute.

## Reach and unused material

Pass 2 keeps both dimensions but splits the former recognition bundle. `T4-005` retains remembered attachment; `T4-007` takes acknowledgment of local accomplishment. This recut answers a practice distinction, rather than making a failed episode fit. `t07`, making and mistaking April Fools jokes, remains the unused contextual coder theme; its code mass is 2/143, coverage receipt 2327, window [0,97] with no endpoint codes. Its joke is not forced into the mechanism. Other themes contribute with limits: scripts and flair curiosity are not fully explained by the core arrows and remain named story residue.

No novel concept is claimed. The candidate of taking on a neighbour's boundary as a building task may be an instance of mutual adjustment from unverified recollection. The evidence distinguishes obligation from implementation without claiming that familiar theory lacks the distinction. R5 holds the restricted comparison; no explanation shelf has been opened.
