# r/PlaceNL: the model as instantiated in one room of form B (round 2, the raids)

Written at D6a-17. The figure is `room-B-PlaceNL.png` (and `.svg`), drawn as `README.md` describes. The sources are the room's ops on every unit of the model (`_views/rooms-x-elements.tsv`), its 22 selected changes (the D5 lines of form B) and its A1 telling (`package/PlaceNL/case.md`), cited for moments. The room's account is unresolved, as every room's is; what follows rests on its ruled lines.

**Why this room.** The round-2 rule took one room per facet of form B and chose the triple that together shows the most of B's seven changed cells. r/PlaceNL stands for the raids, and it holds the scripts too. It shows four of B's cells: the scripts (P14) and the chat (P23), both "robust", and sparing (P07) and the call turned on a rival (A15), both marginal. It has 22 selected changes, against the form's defining median of 10, and 246 coded concepts. Its distance to B's centre is 0.8057, 4th nearest of 113. The A1 telling's record begins on the second day, with a post naming itself the official coordination for placing pixels (`62uylj`). Members then kept a large orange area with plans and maintenance scripts, attacked and made pacts, handed out space to rooms they had displaced, fought among themselves over a figure, and after the close carried on elsewhere.

## What it carries as the model states it

Twenty-one units are instantiated with no change:
- **The spine:** the starter (R01), the call (P01), building (P03), the bare answer to a call (A12), celebration (P11), records (P12) and the celebrated work kept on record (A08).
- **The neighbours:** border terms (P08), a settled border kept (A05), coalitions (P17) and who may commit the room (P21).
- **The contest:** attack calls (P09) and the attack call refused (A16).
- **Other mediators:** working out who changed the work (P06), which version is kept (P22), explaining the canvas (P24), jokes (P26), whether covering is fair (P31), stepping away (P32) and the envoy (R02).
- **Conditions:** K04.

Fifteen units are absent, among them too few hands (K02) and the move (P10, A10), the April Fools frame (K01) and the host's line (P20, A20). Four units have no line, and six carry change lines in the ledger view that are not selected (A01, A19, K05, K06, P04, P18).

## Its changes, along the model's course

Of the 22 changes, 14 restrict, 4 add a condition, 3 add a step and 1 links. They sit in Coordination without command 7, Maintenance 1, Order without law 6, Imprinting 4 and Contention 3; one has no fourth-order theme.

- **The answer to a call.** It restricts P15 (the bare answer) at T3-017, carrying on ordinary sub talk, a theme with no fourth-order placement: sarcastic thanks to a summoned bot is not a bare acceptance of a call.
- **Decided order and the scripts.** Six changes sit at T3-028, running scripts for the work (T4-009 Workarounds).
  - It restricts C01 (decided order): a poll, planning roles and limited permissions on the scripts show decided organisation in this room, without testing how often rooms decided theirs.
  - It restricts P02 (settling the design): an announced redesign cannot be carried out while the defensive scripts erase its pixels and permission to change the target is not available.
  - It adds a condition to P05 (upkeep): telling the keepers of a new plan is not enough when changing the shared target needs a permission held by someone who is away.
  - It adds a condition and a step to P14 (scripts): changing a shared target needs a permission-holder who is present, even after the design is announced; and fixing a fault in the script is not the same as authorising a new target. This is form B's change, and a "robust" one.
  - It adds a condition to P23 (the chat): routing the shared tools through a chat can keep out a helper who refuses that venue. This is form B's change, and a "robust" one.

In the A1 telling a member wrote "Het plan veranderd ieder uur, Join alstublieft de Discord" (`dfqn51t`), the plan changes every hour, join the Discord, and the reply said the Reddit copy "is echt al 24 uur oud" (`dfqotc8`), is really 24 hours old. Later a member said the scripts went against "het principe van /r/place" (`dfrqdvr`), and another that "De huisjes worden allemaal weggepoetst" (`dfrvgvk`), the little houses are all wiped away.
- **Newcomers.** It adds a step to P25 (newcomers) at T3-113, drawing national emblems (T4-006 Collective representation): members build a room signature to bring newcomers to instructions on which neighbouring art to spare. It restricts P25 at T3-117, marking the canvas's end (T4-027 Collective memory): one late newcomer does not show that the signature brought them.
- **Keeping, sparing and help.**
  - It restricts A03 (building then keeping) at T3-042, choosing upkeep over expansion (T4-013 Repair work); the record cannot show it: a good position is answered with an order to defend it, a call to keep it rather than keeping measured.
  - It restricts A04 (keeping brings border talk) at T3-010, settling borders with neighbours (T4-016 Negotiated order); the line says both that the arrow fails and that the record cannot show it: diplomacy comes before the first call to hold the area.
  - It restricts A11 (a template settles a design) and links P07 (sparing) at T3-011, helping another room's work (T4-017 Reciprocity). In A11 the arrow fails here: a template supplied for repair does not settle the opposing wishes. The link joins a requested template to an announced restoration, without ensuring that the art survives. The link is form B's change.
  - It restricts A13 (keeping under strain brings help) at T3-151, bartering help with neighbours (T4-017); the record cannot show it: offers and acceptance show help sought, not help delivered.
  - It adds a condition to P16 (help) and a step to P19 (a guest's work under a host's rule) at T3-151: a bargain of space for defence needs an approval that can be carried out and time left to place, and invitation, application, conditional offer, acceptance, referral and carrying out are separate steps.

In the A1 telling a member said "Heb er scriptjes op zitten om hem weg te halen" (`dfrnfmf`), I have scripts on it to remove it, and was answered that removing a classic meme turns people against them (`dfrnkaj`). Another asked for the figure's template, got it (`dfrqmup`) and wrote "Ik ga hem herstellen" (`dfrqoo5`), I am going to restore it. A neighbour accepted a bargain, "we will help defend you guys as long as the greyblob can live" (`dfrxjjm`), and later said it was moot because "r/place has ended now" (`dfsacgn`).
- **The raids.** Three changes sit in Contention.
  - It restricts A15 (a call's hands can turn on a rival) at T3-061, pushing into a neighbour's space (T4-020 Repertoire of contention); the record cannot show it: calls to attack are seen, without tracing builders recruited earlier into the attack. This is form B's change, and the room's raids facet.
  - It restricts C02 (the tie that names the rival) at T3-061: colonial history names a target in a proposal, and the surviving title does not show an attack made for that reason.
  - It restricts A18 (an attack carried on in taunts) at T3-154, claiming victory over rival rooms (T4-021 Rivalry); the record cannot show it: reports of attacks and claims of victory do not show one attack causing the later talk.

In the A1 telling a call to turn a neighbour's dog orange was refused because the clogs were "een prachtig compromis" (`dfqszy6`), a fine compromise. In the same hours members attacked one neighbour and made a pact with others against the Void (`635b21`).
- **The close.** It restricts A07 (a finished mark is marked) at T3-117, and A09 (the record carried on) and P13 (what the room keeps) at T3-111, repurposing the canvas sub (T4-028 Transition). In A07 and A09 the record cannot show it: the celebration credits the achievement without showing every design finished, and archiving sits beside an invitation to continue without causing it. Reports of others on a successor canvas show a destination, not the room's move. In the A1 telling a moderator wrote "Place is voorbij, maar we meemen gewoon door in de Cirkeltrek" (`638j4l`), Place is over, but we simply carry on in the Cirkeltrek.

## Form B's defining changes in this room

The room shows four of B's seven changes: the scripts (P14) and the chat (P23), both "robust"; and sparing passed through the tools (P07) and the call turned on a rival (A15), both marginal. Three are drawn with a hollow border: it carries stepping away (P32), border terms (P08) and the settled border kept (A05) as the model states them.

## Where it departs from its form

- **Its scripts were the room's decided order.** Permission to change the shared target was held by a few, and the scripts erased designs the room had announced. That joins B's scripts to decided order (C01), which form A changes.
- **Its restricts mostly say the record cannot show it** (A03, A13, A15, A18, A07, A09), which fits a record that begins on the second day and moves its plans to a chat.

Seen through the model, the room called, built, celebrated and kept a record as the model says. Its own course ran through scripts and a chat: a large area held by maintenance scripts and hourly plans, attacks and pacts made in the same hours, space handed back to rooms it had displaced, and a quarrel over a figure that its own scripts erased.
