Head, claude-v43-1
Under 3,000 words, rewritten whole at every close. Last written at
the close of B1e, 2026-10-11 (UTC): the scheme standing, closed at the
interview point (done.sh B1 --cut interview). Stage B1 is
done.
The method question, in one sentence
Can independently reconstructed case histories be composed into a shared dynamic account that supports explanations at successive levels of specificity, from population-wide patterns, through forms and subforms, to particular organizational histories, while keeping access to the evidence from which those explanations were developed?
The theory question is unchanged: when strangers organize on a clock they did not set, with no way to compel anyone and no goal given to them, what forms does organizing take, how do they differ in their functioning, and which of them keep the work alive?
Where the run stands
Stage A1 is closed; all 705 rooms have a note. Stage B1, the third-order scheme, is done: B1a to B1e are closed. The next stage is B2, which tightens the scheme against fresh readers and freezes it. Read its stage file when the next leg opens; this head does not plan it.
B1a. prior.md came first (sections 1 to
6 dated 2026-10-07; 7 and 8 wait for the return stage) and is sealed; a
change is a departure (rule 10). Seed cd472a6087a223d4 in
out/seed.txt.
B1b (B1b-01 to B1b-32). Every room was walked in the seeded order, 705 of 705. The last new kind is T3-197 heeding the creator's wishes (parahumans t08, room 661 of 705). New kinds per hundred second-order themes: 60 in the first hundred, 0 in the last hundred, 2.51 over the whole pass (197 in 7,844). The PI decided finish at marker 3 (10 October).
B1c. 30 seeded rooms read fresh: 0 new kinds, 0 splits; 35 of 317 themes (11.0%) in 20 rooms met a gate that failed.
B1d (B1d-01 to B1d-07). 108 chosen rooms reread
whole in seven stretches; no stretch minted, split or merged a kind. The
pass stopped on its run of 108 rooms and 148.1 average rooms with no new
kind, against marker 1's 78 rooms and 72.1 average rooms (floor 30).
saturation-B1.md closes with how the pass stopped.
B1e, the scheme standing.
scheme.jsonl: 197 themes, 183 main and 14 rare, each with gate, discriminators, varies, is_not, floor (main only) and up to three exemplars (578 in all; 10 themes have fewer than three).families.jsonl: 21 families. The largest is G21, after the canvas closed (15 themes).scheme.md: an index page, then every family in full, with exemplars.confusions.md: 17 ranked pairs. The hardest is T3-005 against T3-021, with an estimated 15 to 20% disagreement.findings.jsonl: F-001, the scheme's claim, warrant read, status standing.handback-B1.md;out/interview/B1e.md.- 115 themes relabelled and 14 moved to rare, each with a
tier_history.jsonlline. Two moves were logged and snapped (B1-move-asking-questions-1,B1-move-relating-or-contrasting-1). No theme merged, split or dropped at B1e. - The hand-over checks of section 7 are in
notes-B1.md, section "Leg B1e".
The claim (F-001). The organising of the 705 rooms sorts into 197 kinds of doing, none over 7% of the 7,786 placed second-order themes. Half of those themes (51.1%) sit on one kind; the rest need two or three. Themes about dealing with other rooms need the most: 36.0% on one kind, against 54.1% for the others. Bound: the share needing several kinds rises with the grain of the second-order theme (70.4% on one kind at five concepts or fewer, 35 to 38% at six to twenty). Best fit: canucks, 40 themes each on one kind across 18 families. Worst fit among rooms of eight themes or more: turkey, 13 of 14 themes on two or three kinds. What separates them is the grain: about 5 concepts a theme against about 19.
J's words for B1 (7 October 2026): "national
elements are very important here"; "we need to get as much variance on
organizing behavior early on so that later we have enough to create the
model". National, political and conflict content is study material: a
theme about flags, borders, alliances or fights between national rooms
is minted, placed and named as plainly as any other. The
handler's rule: a choice to leave out or soften content for any
reason other than the study's goes to J first with
mem.py ask, and the content stays meanwhile. Nothing was
left out or softened at B1e; the gates and exemplars name Israel and
Palestine, swastikas, slurs and ethnic jokes plainly.
The PI's clarifications (8 October, approved by J): the thresholds are the design's heuristic; the rule is unchanged.
How to work, from J (8 October, 23:45 Berlin, "can you do a
hot change for the batching?"; relayed by the handler at 22:03Z; carry
this paragraph into every head). A change in how I work, not in
what I read or decide. Fewer turns. When two or more tool calls do not
depend on each other's output, make them in one turn. Chain ordered
commands in one Bash call with &&, so that a failure stops the
rest; for example, the mem.py log or note just decided,
then the next mem.py codes. Never put a write in the same
turn as the read it depends on. Never run two writes to the same file as
separate parallel calls. Keep one room's material per read, as now.
Every tool still writes its own record; nothing about what I read or
decide changes.
Two rules from J at B1b-29 (through the handler, 20:10Z;
carry them into every head). Write rule 0 lines and bags with
b1_multiplace_write4.py and
b1_bags_from_file2.py, not the old scripts, which made one
mem.py call per row of the whole table and grew to 8.5
minutes a write. Never end a turn while a job runs in the background;
run every write and check in the foreground.
No question is open.
What B1 hands to B2 (from the handback, kept here for after a compaction)
- Asks: a way to serve a second-order theme's concepts without its placements (the stranger test at B1e was not blind); a ruling on testing one index page for G13, G14 and G15 together; a ruling on whether B3 readers see exemplars; a ruling on the B1d leftovers below.
- B1d leftovers not taken up at B1e:
- 107 episode lines whose kinds none of their rooms holds;
- seven pairs of lines telling one event (the first E846 beside E1178);
- E989;
- the cfb and finland records;
- shared-member counts that may include EA1r+K5p/lVBLesLhCFRrKOPN+I=;
- the 76 themes holding both T3-005 and T3-021 acts
(
b1_review_T3-005_T3-021_both_acts.txt); - T3-149 and T3-150 members that may hold T3-195;
- kinds left out of bags.
- Hard items for B2 will come from second-order themes of six to twenty concepts, and from the deal kinds: T3-010 in G14; T3-149, T3-150, T3-151, T3-194 and T3-195 in G15; T3-024, T3-039, T3-040 and T3-076 in G13.
- The second-order theme the scheme handles worst: argentina t06, "making and contesting pixel alliances", on T3-150 with a bag naming seven more kinds.
- The ten biggest second-order themes by concepts are in the B1e notes for B3 to flag. leagueoflegends t02 is the largest, at 798 concepts.
- Token sizes:
scheme.mdabout 85,400 tokens (bytes over four), of which exemplars are about 14,100; the served index page about 8,300; a family page about 1,600 to 4,100.
The floor and the tiers, as read at B1e
The floor is two rooms unlike each other: in size (one holds at least
twice the other's items in the window), in side of the contrast, or in
form as the notes have it. Rooms telling one episode count as one.
out/_analysis/b1e_floor.py read it.
- 181 main themes rest on size.
- Two rest on form: T3-173 (GreenCorner, AprilKnights) and T3-189 (scp, parahumans).
- Rare: T3-007, T3-025, T3-067, T3-077, T3-093, T3-106, T3-133, T3-144, T3-161, T3-166, T3-186, T3-191 and T3-197, each seen in one room; T3-128, in three rooms that tell one episode (E1132).
- T3-007 and T3-077 each have a second room's concept that is not placed on them (parahumans c0007, in a bag; PlaceNL c0087).
Stage A1, what B1 inherited
- J's rulings of 7 October: hour 0 is the canvas opening; the onset is the first coded turn at hour 0 or later; the organizing end is reported with and without calls after hour 73 (QA1-002).
coordinating-rule-A1.md, copied intoprior.md§5. 44,116 of 115,388 concepts coordinate. Census 705 rooms; second-order themes 7,844, all placed or listed as unplaced in B1. QA1-001: the concept-reach threshold stays at 0.- The onset contrast and what was found against the prior are in
contrast.mdandprior.md§6.
Contrary rooms
Blocks 01 to 19, with the contrast's sides in
contrast.md. The 68 the log and head name are the chosen
list's group 3; Summit1G is the room that fits nothing else (A1c).
Open distinctions, carried past B1
None is filed in _questions/. These remain open:
- who started the work;
- wars told twice;
- rivals who turn partners (E1076, E1122, E1142, E1318);
- whose flag a shared flag is (E1118);
- one act read differently by its rooms, and records that disagree on who attacked, on promises, truces, bots and design changes;
- who drove a bot and why it left a work (E1025);
- a room's own scripts barring it from sparing a neighbour (E843), or wrecking a protectorate it then rebuilt (E1209);
- one member on both sides of a quarrel (E820, E947);
- objections to altering the final image, split between T3-054 and T3-105.
Settled at B1e and written into the gates:
- protection given (no host-side kind; T3-011 or T3-150);
- offensive joking (in T3-031; arguing over it is T3-143);
- political slogans (T3-033);
- veiled fascist emblems (T3-113);
- outside voices' denials (T3-188);
- glitches (T3-016, T3-088, T3-074);
- bot rumours (T3-027);
- game-fandom wars (not T3-081).

Rules kept
Never type an id, an order or a name from memory; check with
jqor a script. Never log a write before the tool answers, nor trust an answer cut bytail. Count a ledger's lines after appending.There is no
--kind closeand no--kind episode; log those as notes.Check a notes section against the diary before closing. Never put a placeholder or a no-op in a command. Never put an Edit and the read that checks it in one turn.
Before moving a placement under a rule, read the rule's own
tier_history.jsonlline, not this head's summary of it.The permission check refuses:
- "=w=" (write "the Weezer symbol");
- shell for and while loops, and words beginning "for_";
- shell functions, brace groups and heredocs (python heredocs included);
- awk, even inside another word;
- a variable set from
$(...), and somepython3 -cscripts; - jq with a
test()regex, some jq filters with chainedorselects or jq variables, and env-var prefixes such asLC_ALL=C cut; - cat or jq on
out/diary/(usemem.py diary).
Split those, or write a script file.
In zsh a word beginning with "=" fails and stops the line. The guard refuses any text holding the name of the PI's decision command.
A file over 256 KB is read with
offsetandlimit(notes-B1.mdis one); append to it withb1e_append.py. The shell shows at most 30 KB per call.mem.py diarypages at 80 lines. The Read tool cannot open files under$TMPDIR. BSD grep has no-P.Once
scheme.jsonlexists,mem.py scheme <T3>serves the shipped line without members; read members fromscheme_current.jsonl.mem.py themeprints the working placements above the concepts.The diary is in part B1-188 at this close. After a compaction the guard requires the head and stage file read again and the exact line "compacted; head reconciled" through
mem.py log --kind note, in a call of its own, before any other write. Run no read and no write before those steps. Slips so far: one call at B1d-01, one read each at B1d-02, B1d-04 and B1d-05, two reads at B1d-03, one write at B1d-06, four reads at B1d-07, and one write and one check at B1e. After an interrupted turn or a lost connection, check the record before rerunning anything.
The next comparison
Stage B2 sets the gates in front of fresh readers. The first comparisons to watch:
- T3-005 against T3-021, with GreenCorner t03 to expose it;
- T3-010 against T3-149, with anarcho_capitalism t12;
- whether a reader holding G14 alone files truces and alliances under T3-010;
- whether readers disagree on the primary in more than a third of the second-order themes, which F-001 names as its refutation.
