R3 higher themes

Target length: under 1,900 words.

These are constructs cut above the immutable coder themes. All names are coined analytic labels for this structure, with no claim that their phrases are new to the literature. Source strings are empty; no borrowed name is treated as verified. The code-level split of the t10 assignment changes no coding. Material and separating tests appear in structure.md; the JSONL retains every gate and declaration.

T4-001: Contribution legibility

Declared coined. Grounded gloss: specifying what a contribution should be and explaining how to make it.

Members: t01 (building and straightening the Greek flag); t06 (learning and explaining how pixel placing works).

Participants make contributions mutually intelligible by specifying an image and explaining the means of placing pixels. The common work is translating an intended result into something a participant can understand and attempt. Design precision varies from a flag request to square and stripe dimensions; participation knowledge varies from a newcomer account to an explicit cooldown explanation. This does not establish that instructions are followed.

Question: How does a participant acquire a usable account of the shared object and the act needed to contribute?

Membership condition: The material specifies, corrects or makes intelligible the shared image or the interface through which a participant can contribute.

Disconfirmation: In another setting, these descriptions neither make a proposed contribution intelligible nor distinguish an acceptable act from an incompatible one; coordination instead relies on already fixed specifications that nobody supplies or learns here.

Likely confusion: Standardization or training; the construct covers provisional accounts and learning, without claiming a stable standard or training organization.

T4-002: Contested collective agency

Declared coined. Grounded gloss: claiming, attempting and disputing joint responses among placers whom plans do not fully bind.

Members: t03 (fighting, defending, and negotiating flag borders).

Participants recruit action, negotiate room and contest who can speak or act for a collective when neighboring or overlapping projects interfere. Fighting and coexistence are alternatives within this practice, not stages every participant passes through. Apologies, warnings, defense pledges and explanations about random placers expose the difference between claiming a collective response and controlling it. A national name does not establish unified action.

Question: What collective responses are attempted or claimed when projects interfere, and what limits the reach of those claims?

Membership condition: The material recruits, commits, reports, justifies or disputes a collective response to adjacent or interfering projects, including whose placing represents a group and which relations its current design should enact.

Disconfirmation: The apparent collective responses are only descriptions of unrelated individual acts, or all named placers are demonstrably bound by a single authority with no disputed reach or incompatible response.

Likely confusion: Collective efficacy or a unitary national actor; it measures neither success nor the consent of everyone named.

T4-003: Coordination routing

Declared coined. Grounded gloss: directing helpers, designs and discussion into shared working venues.

Members: t04 (moving flag work into Discord and a spreadsheet); t08 (redirecting r/place posts into r/GreecePlace).

Participants alter the route by which helpers and plans can meet. Invitations offer a shared chat or draft; moderation removes posts and names a destination. The common practice is arranging access and location for coordination. What varies is the speaker's authority, the voluntariness of movement, and whether a venue carries talk, a design or project posts. The route is observed; successful use of its destination is not assumed.

Question: Where are people and plans directed to meet, and who can alter that route?

Membership condition: The material offers, uses or imposes a shared destination or coordination artifact for helpers, designs or project discussion.

Disconfirmation: The external references merely advertise unrelated content, with no request, arrangement or policy directing shared work or discussion to a common destination.

Likely confusion: Information provision or successful platform migration; pointers do not reveal destination deliberation, adoption or effectiveness.

T4-004: Achievement attribution

Declared coined. Grounded gloss: marking a joint result and crediting or qualifying the people and work behind it.

Members: t05 (celebrating a finished flag and organized Greeks).

Participants mark the image as made and attribute accomplishment or organizing ability to a collective or helper. Reservations about perfection keep evaluation inside the practice rather than requiring a separate failure theme. The abstraction distinguishes a public claim of achievement from the actual arrangements that produced it, and from wider moral conclusions about a nation. It supplies no evidence that praise rewards or renews effort.

Question: What result and collective capability do participants say the work has demonstrated?

Membership condition: The material marks, credits, celebrates or qualifies a completed or visible shared product, a helper's contribution, or a collective's organizing ability.

Disconfirmation: The supposed achievement statements do not evaluate or credit any joint result, or the analysis has inferred accomplishment entirely from material survival without participant attribution.

Likely confusion: Collective efficacy as a demonstrated capacity, or reward provision; these are attributed accomplishments without evidence of a motivational effect.

T4-005: Contested national representation

Declared coined. Grounded gloss: disputing whom national claims speak for and what relations or moral judgments they warrant.

Members: t12 (arguing whether canvas friendship means anything beyond the flags); t13 (arguing whether Greeks are always on the right side of history).

Speakers contest the scope of statements made about a people: whether a canvas friendship can stand for relations beyond it, whether governments represent ordinary people, and whether national membership establishes innocence or righteousness. The common practice is asserting and challenging the authority to generalize about a collective. What varies is the object of judgment, from friendship to historical responsibility, and the grounds invoked, from chosen relations to inherited history. Shared vocabulary and reply adjacency are insufficient for this grouping; explicit challenges to every-Greek claims and to inherent national morality supply its common practice.

Question: Who may speak for a people, and how far can a claim about that collective extend?

Membership condition: The material asserts, qualifies or contests generalizations about national people, their relations, historical responsibility or moral standing beyond a current placement arrangement.

Disconfirmation: The exchanges concern only an image's design or independent historical facts, without claims or challenges about what can be attributed to a people or their relations.

Likely confusion: National identity consensus or reconciliation; the construct preserves incompatible positions and establishes neither persuasion nor a shared change of mind.

Dimension: D02

T4-006: Participation cost appraisal

Declared coined. Grounded gloss: questioning effort, attention or room space consumed by the event against other uses or obligations.

Members: t09 (complaining that pixels have taken over); c0113 (getting absorbed in placing and watching pixels change); c0114 (getting absorbed in placing and watching pixels change).

Participants make event participation answerable to another use of time, attention or shared space. A complaint that pixels crowd the subreddit, a comparison with meaningful work and accounts of work displaced by placing all assess the cost of involvement. What varies is whose resource is at issue and whether the appraisal rebukes others or accounts for one's own absorption. The construct does not say that costs caused withdrawal, moderation or project failure.

Question: Against what competing use or obligation does involvement become costly or questionable?

Membership condition: The material appraises participation as consuming or misdirecting effort, attention or room space against a competing use, concern or obligation.

Disconfirmation: The statements only observe the event or describe its interface, without an explicit burden, displaced use, contested seriousness or competing-use comparison.

Likely confusion: Burnout, economic opportunity-cost measurement or an inferred backlash mechanism; the material supports appraisals, not a measured condition or causal effect.

Dimension: none. Private work costs and public attention disputes do not themselves attribute a collective achievement or generalize about a people, nor do they arrange coordination. A new dimension with only this theme would add no reduction; the theme remains visible without a dimension.

What no higher theme picked up

t02, arguing over which symbols belong on the canvas: retained as context for rival purposes and other projects. Its surviving comments do not consistently carry a shared Greek-flag organizing practice or the scope dispute about national people. t07, running a drachma April Fools joke: the room's separate joke is contextual, rather than forced into a canvas construct. t11, sending weekly banter to other subreddits: ordinary offshoots are contextual; a subreddit name alone is not coordination routing.

t10 remains intact in the coded source, but its higher assignment is split by code. c0113 and c0114 enter T4-006. The contextual remainder is c0115 (watching Bender change), c0116 (event appreciation), c0117 (bot diagnosis) and c0120 (interface question). Each has an individual assignment and reason. Keeping these observations does not require inventing a common organizing mechanism.

The instrument records 17 contextual codes out of 194 closed codes (coverage receipt 2405), alongside 177 codes picked up by a higher theme (receipt 2401). These are assignment-coverage counts, not a property or prevalence measure of community conduct. Their window is hours 0 through 97 inclusive, with no codes at either exact boundary.

A symbol-level umbrella could absorb t02, but it would merge work on unrelated projects merely because their objects are symbols. A generic event-response umbrella could absorb the split t10 remainder, but it would erase the distinction between burden appraisal, appreciation and diagnosis. Neither grouping adds an explanatory practice.

What no dimension gathered

T4-006 has dimension: []. Its comparison of involvement with competing uses or obligations does not itself arrange contributions or attribute a property to a collective. A private work account and a complaint about room space can belong to this cost-appraisal construct without being made instances of either dimension. The theme remains available for later modeling.
